Caroni's The Paradise series continues with an extraordinary new release.
This series was born during the legendary Caroni Ceremony on 12 April 2019, in Cognac, when 26 rum experts - including Luca Gargano - selected the 23 best from the 136 barrels remaining from Caroni's last available stock. From the selection, Caroni The Last, Caroni Tasting Gang and Caroni Employees were born, and then special casks were selected to be bottled as Single Cask: The Paradise series, in fact.
The Caroni Paradise #12 cask is #5627: Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum from 1996, from stock that remained in Trinidad after distillation until 2008, then in Guyana from 2009 to 2018 – double maturation.
Only 234 bottles were produced.
The bottles are blown by glass artist Massimo Lunardon, with labels that echo the heavily Caribbean-inspired works of Che Lovelace, a Trinidadian artist and lecturer at the University of the West Indies creative arts campus.
