This is a rum from the Jamaican Hampden distillery from the 1993 vintage and from the C<>H mark.
It was aged for 28 years in a continental climate before being bottled at 57.8% in 187 copies by the team of salon du rhum.
The rum is golden in color.
On the nose, it's even more expressive and as luscious as the previous rum.
One discovers notes of overripe tropical fruits (pineapple, mango) combined with green olives and a slightly more intense solvent note, as well as tangy notes (candied lemon), followed by hints of ginger and camphor. Again, there are few woody notes.
On the palate, the attack is intense, yet always controlled.
The lusciousness is evident, with notes of banana compote and pineapple cake, followed by notes of green olive brine, sweet chili pepper, and hints of allspice and black pepper before bitter almond and woody notes emerge.
A very long finish.
