For Rum Sponge Edition number 9 we return once again to Guyana and a particularly elegant and complex old example of Uitvlugt. 

Distilled in 1989 and aged for 31 years in a refill barrel, this has been bottled at its natural cask strength, which just so happens to be bang on 50.0%. 

Lazily tropical, intriguing and exotically tinged medicines, rustic breads in warm sunshine, idling oily motors and big yawns! This is a rum to flake out and lounge with in stretchy pants on well-shaded bean bags with suitable volumes of sun-lotion at hand.
