Old Brothers - LPCH Jamaican Rum Special Edition 2009 is a rare blend of molasses rums from the Long Pond, Clarendon and Hampden distilleries.
Distilled in an iron still and fermented for 15 days with indigenous yeasts, it has been aged for 12 and a half years, including 11 years in a tropical climate before maturing in France. Cask strength and not cold filtered, it is limited to only 566 numbered bottles.
Bearing the LPCH brand (Long Pond, Clarendon, Hampden), this rum embodies all the richness of Jamaican high ester rums. Aged in ex-bourbon barrels, it has undergone a natural evaporation of 49% in a tropical climate, thus concentrating its aromas and complexity.
An explosive and complex aromatic profile
On the nose, an explosion of overripe exotic fruits, coated with a resinous honey and light notes of solvent. With aeration, aromas of vanilla tobacco, waxed wood and honeyed sweetness appear. On the palate, a fruity and floral palette is fully expressed: strawberries, raspberries, hibiscus, red fruit sorbet, then quince and guava paste. The finish, powerful and iodized, bears the signature of the great Jamaican rums, with a marked intensity and exceptional depth.
