Moon Import Vieux Uitvlugt Demerara Guyana Vintage 1995 16 Years Old 46% Rum is a traditional molasses rum produced on the banks of the Demerara River in Guyana! After fermentation, the molasses was distilled in a traditional double wooden still. In 1995, the year this rum was produced, this legendary wooden still was installed within the Uitvlugt distillery, which closed its doors in 1999.
During its 16-year maturation, almost exclusively continental, Moon Import Vieux Uitvlugt Demerara Guyana Vintage 1995 16 Years Old 46% Rum spent time in ex-sherry casks under the Scottish climate. This rum was then reduced to 46% vol before being bottled without any additives.
The result is a magnificent, deep, complex, and elegant Demerara rum that plays on contrasts: rich yet spicy, rounded yet beautifully taut, it oscillates between fruity and spicy notes.
