The 21st edition of RumClub's Private Selection series was distilled in the year 2000 on the Caribbean island of Jamaica at the Hampden Distillery. The Mark is LROK (Light Rum Owen Kelly). It matured in an old bourbon cask for 21 years in a continental climate.
The result is an intense and at the same time fruity Jamaican rum with the fascinating taste profile of toasted pineapple, overripe bananas and a hint of mango. This single cask produced 276 bottles and was filled with a keg force of 50.0% vol.
In collaboration with the Berlin brewery Lemke, Spirit Of Ruma accompanies each bottle of this famous Hampden LROK, with an exclusive and unique beer duo. After bottling the Jamaican rum, Spirit Of Rum had the empty keg filled with a dark lager from the brewery. The beer was stored in Jamaica's barrel for a full 5 weeks. The result is an absolutely tasty and fruity lager with 6% vol. For a perfect comparison, we also put a Lemke Original lager.
This 50cl bottle of Hampden is therefore accompanied by two 35cl beers at 6%.
