Famille Ricci - HPDN (Hampden) 39 years - 1983 is an exceptional rum, one of the oldest Hampdens ever bottled. Aged for 26 years in Jamaica before continuing its maturation for 13 years in Europe, it benefits from a short finish in Oloroso casks, bringing an additional touch of complexity.
Distilled in 1983 in a Double Retort Pot Still, this rum bears the HGML mark, the signature of high-ester Jamaican rums. Its prolonged aging, much of it in a tropical climate, gives it exceptional aromatic intensity.
This cask strength rum has an explosive nose, combining very ripe tropical fruits, toasted wood and marine notes. On the palate, it retains a remarkable freshness, with a velvety texture marked by creamy exotic fruits, a tangy hint and touches of dried fruits and toasted almonds.
The tasting ends with sweet and subtly woody notes, accompanied by a final touch of olive green, the characteristic signature of great Hampdens.
