This cognac was distilled by André Porcher from the Fins Bois region using a 12hl pot still. Amy and Jean Pasquet were able to acquire some casks from his stock, and the Grape of the Art team was fortunate enough to visit them at just the right time to take a sample home.
After the first tasting, everyone was absolutely thrilled with the taste and quality. Even our cognac skeptic, Leo, was blown away! ;)
As the name suggests, several casks from the 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, and 1972 vintages were married (in the late 1980s), divided into individual casks, and subsequently treated as a "single cask." Our cask #21 comes in at 66.6% ABV, achieved through aging in a dry cellar (where more water than alcohol evaporates for most of the year, thus maintaining a high alcohol content).
Furthermore, no dilution was added in the cask. So, true cask strength or full proof, naturally without any additives! The result was 276 bottles, which were bottled at Pasquet in January.
