This special single cask release celebrates the sixth anniversary of The Whisky Jury.
Distilled in 1996 and matured for nearly three decades in a refill hogshead, it perfectly captures how time, oak and distillery character can unite in pure harmony.
Ben Nevis whiskies from the 1990s are renowned for their tropical fruit profile and mineral edge, both of which are beautifully expressed here.
Tasting Notes
Nose : Tropical notes of mango, pineapple and guava rise first, followed by beeswax, honey and a touch of citrus zest. With some air, mineral tones of wet stone and chalk appear, intertwined with soft oak and hints of dried flowers. The aroma evolves gracefully between ripe fruit and refined maturity - inviting and complex.
Palate : Smooth and velvety on the palate, showing rich fruit flavours of papaya, dried mango and juicy pear. Honeyed malt and vanilla provide warmth, while gentle spice and a waxy texture add depth.
The balance between sweetness and dryness is impeccable - the minerality keeps the fruit lively, and the oak remains elegantly in the background.
Finish : Long and layered. Tropical fruit and beeswax linger, joined by a delicate hint of citrus, soft oak and white pepper. The finish feels clean, poised and mature - the hallmark of a whisky that wears its age with grace.
A Ben Nevis of soul, elegance and quiet power - a whisky that rewards every sip with new discoveries.
