The Rhum HSE (Habitation Saint Etienne) Grand Millésime 1998, bottled in 2016, is one of the most recognized and prestigious products of the Habitation Saint-Etienne. This distillery has its roots in the 1800s, well before being given these 3 letters in the 90s, a sign of a renaissance that pushes agricultural rum beyond borders.
The Millésime 1998 is an exceptional rum that has been aged for more than 18 years, having undergone evaporation and a concentration of nearly 80% due to the angels' share. Distilled from pure sugar cane juice, this rum reflects the quality of the unique know-how of the island of Martinique.
Its distillate has patiently aged in Cognac barrels for more than ten years, bringing warm notes of ripe fruits, quince mixed with cocoa and prune on the palate. The 1998 vintage is sold in an elegant wooden case, all the bottles from the last barrel carefully kept secret.
