A versatile rum distillery on the island of Réunion. Established in 1870, it was originally located in Saint-Paul before being relocated to the Bois-Rouge sugar factory in 1992 where it operates both pot and column stills to make a range of rhum traditionnel and rhum agricole.
This original project was born in 2023, centered around Savanna’s most exceptional distillate, the HERR, and a meeting of rum enthusiasts: the Savanna team and Mika Barbaria, founder of Swell de Spirits.
For his return flight to Savanna Herrline, Mika had this TH1 rum created, a bold blend of Trad C20 2014 and HERR 2009, aged 8 years 100% tropical, Ex-Cognac Barrel #215, Brut de Fût, 59.5% ABV, only 733 bottles, 500ml
Nose: Fruity, with notes of exotic fruits, mixed with a vanilla woody bringing structure and roundness. Power and aromatic complexity revealed by the influence of HERR.
Mouth: Sweet, marked by notes of grilled cocoa and a pleasant sweetness. A slight astringency and beautiful length with a fruity return in retro-olfaction.
Finish: Pleasant with a nice balance and a slight tone. Perfect harmony between the nose and mouth for a delicious experience.
