After distillation, a long period of maturation begins in steel vats, lasting up to a year, during which the alcohol content is slowly reduced.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe rum is then aged in French oak barrels that have held some of the finest wines from France's greatest crus.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll Liberations bear the year of \"liberation\" from the barrel on the label.
